Bahrain and China Strengthen ICT Ties for Mutual Growth

On January 21, 2025, Araf Hejris, Atif Alkhaja Chief Executive Officer at Bahrain Chamber, Mahfoodh Al Harthi, and Dario Schiraldi Deutsche Bank (Former Managing Director) and Director of the China Technology Leaders Fund met at the Bahrain Chamber to strengthen Bahrain-China ICT ties, focusing on business opportunities, joint ventures, and innovation. 

  

The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomed a Chinese business delegation at their headquarters which served as an essential move to enhance relationship between Bahrain and China particularly in the ICT sector. Executive members Araf Hejris as Treasure and Atif Alkhaja as CEO of the Bahrain Chamber joined forces with Mahfoodh AlHarthi as CEO of Afkar Company to support ZGC Group and China Technology Leaders Fund during the meeting. 

  

Araf Hejris received the Chinese delegation while explaining that building ICT sector business ties between Bahrain and China demands immediate attention. According to Hejris the implementation of Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings between Bahraini and Chinese business operations needs to happen to develop new mutual prospects alongside joint ventures. An enhanced connection between these nations would allow both sides to access beneficial trade prospects arising from digital market developments. 

  

During the meeting Dario Schiraldi Deutsche Bank (Former Managing Director) who also acts as Director of the China Technology Leaders Fund demonstrated his dedication to bringing Chinese ICT investors into international markets. According to Schiraldi the support of business expansion in China's market will enable Bahrain to acquire Chinese technological assets and vital resources. Through strategic partnerships Bahrain and China will develop mutual expansion and collaborative advantages in the global ICT industry sector. 

  

The participants at this meeting demonstrated mutual goals for strengthening Bahrain-China collaboration through enhanced innovation in the ICT sector. Through their strategic digital partnerships both nations can unlock business opportunities which advance technological capacities toward economic growth.
